LEVEL
An elevator that listens.
LEVEL explores a more accessible elevator: physical buttons, displays inside and outside the cabin, and spoken floor selection with clear confirmation.
Buttons first.
Start with clear, tactile floor buttons and readable confirmation. Voice is an additional way to select a floor; the physical controls remain available.
Inside and outside.
Displays outside and inside the cabin show the elevator’s direction and destination floors. Spoken announcements are also shown as text.
A little personality.
An invitation
The elevator could ask, “Where are you going?” when someone enters.
A destination
The passenger says, “Seventh floor.”
A clear response
“Seventh floor. Going up.” The display confirms the selection too.
Later: smarter dispatch.
Future exploration could consider busy floors, passenger counts, and a short memory of requested destinations to anticipate demand. The initial scope is buttons, displays, and speech; dispatch intelligence is a later phase.
